THE INTERNATIONAL TATTOO FESTIVAL, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA
APRIL 19 - 23, 2027
Listed by the American Bus Association as the top North American event, Tattoo is the largest spectacle of Music and Might in the United States of America. This is an astounding display of inspirational military music, majestic massed pipes and drums, show stopping drill team maneuvers, an inspiring flag raising ceremony, and featuring over 800 performers from all over the world. We will also visit the Virginia History Museum, VA Museum of Fine Arts, the Military Aviation Museum, Chrysler Museum of Art, historic Lynnhaven House, and even visit Doumars Ice Cream Shop for a lesson in cone making and a warm fresh cone filled with your favorite ice cream. YUM!
Day 1: Enjoy the ride as we travel south to Richmond, VA and overnight at the Drury Inn & Suites, dinner tonight is included at the Drury.
Day 2: After breakfast (included) we visit the VA Museum of History & Culture and VA Museum of Fine Arts with lunch (on your own) on the campus. After lunch we will travel to the Hampton Inn VA. Beach and check into our ocean-front rooms. Dinner tonight (included) is at Bubbas Crabhouse, one of VA Beachs favorite seafood restaurants!
Day 3: After breakfast (included), we start our day with a visit to the Military Aviation Museum where we explore the worlds largest collection of vintage military aircraft and memorabilia. We will enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch (included) at the museum before we return to the hotel for a free afternoon and evening to stroll along the 3-mile boardwalk, say hello to King Neptune watching over the sea and enjoy walking the beach. Dinner tonight is (on your own) at one of the many area restaurants.
Day 4: After breakfast (included) we begin a full day with a visit to historic Francis Land House, an original plantation house, circa 1805-1819. We will also enjoy lunch included on the grounds of Lynnhaven before we continue to the Chrysler Museum, a major landmark since 1933 with over 35,000 artifacts on display. Doumars Ice Cream is our next stop, where we will enjoy a lesson in cone making and receive a warm cone straight from the cone machine, filled with your favorite Doumar ice cream. Our day comes to a climax with the inspirational Tattoo military music performance and flag raising ceremony, with dinner on your own, at one of many vendors at the Scope Arena. We will also have reserved seats for the Hullaballoo and Parade of Nations event, before we return to the hotel for the evening.
Day 5: After breakfast (included) having enjoyed our experiences in Virginia, we will travel back home to Ohio.
