Travel with us to beautiful Memphis, TN and Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, The King of Rock-n-Roll. We begin with a tour of the legendary Sun Studios where great singers from every genre have recorded hit music. We will stay three nights in the Guest House at Graceland, enjoy a guided tour of the city of Memphis, visit the Memphis Rock-n-Soul Museum, tour Elviss Graceland Mansion, the Stax Museum of American Soul Music, and visit Elviss birthplace. Plus, we will enjoy some great food at Vernons Smokehouse and Marlowe's Ribs Restaurant.
Day 1: Today we travel to Nashville for one night at the Drury Inn & Suites, with a Kickback dinner (included)
Day 2: After breakfast (included) we travel to Memphis, TN and visit Sun Studios, where in 1954 an unknown Elvis Presley grabbed a mic and made Sun the most famous recording studio in the world. This guided tour includes history and outtakes that launched the careers of not only Elvis, but also Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, B.B. King, Roy Orbison, U2, Def Leppard, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Paul Simon and many more. We will check-in at The Guest House at Graceland with time to freshen-up before dinner (included) at the Guest House.
DAY 3: Buffet breakfast (included) in Deltas Kitchen before we depart for a three hour guided tour of beautiful Memphis. We will experience the sights and sounds that made Memphis the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock-n-Roll. Stops include the historic Levitt Shell (where Elvis gave his first paid concert), The Pyramid and the historic March of the Peabody Ducks. Lunch (on your own) is in the world famous Beale Street area of Memphis, with time to shop and explore. The afternoon trip to the Memphis Rock-n-Soul Museum (created by the Smithsonian Institute) tells the story of musical pioneers who overcame huge racial and socioeconomic barriers to create music that shook the entire world. Dinner tonight is at legendary Charlie Vargos Rendezvous barbecue (included)
DAY 4: Buffet breakfast (included) in Deltas Kitchen before we tour Elvis Presleys Graceland Mansion, the place he called home, with exhibits, automobiles, wardrobes, gold records, and full access to Elvis Presleys Entertainment Complex. Join us for Lunch (included) in Vernons Smokehouse, featuring Memphis BBQ and a variety of great southern cooking. After lunch we will travel to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music where we will see artifacts, films, exhibits, and memorabilia from artists that created a Memphis Sound that would be heard around the world.Tonights dinner (included) will be at Marlowes Ribs & Restaurant, home of world-championship BBQ, family owned and operated for over 35 years and full of Elvis memorabilia.
DAY 5: Buffet breakfast (included) in Deltas Kitchen before we depart for Tupelo, MS
and the birthplace of Elvis Presley. Purchased in 1934 by Vernon Presley, this little house was where Elvis was born on January 8, 1935. We will also visit the Assembly of God Pentecostal Church where the Presleys attended and Elvis was introduced to gospel music, which influenced his music throughout his career. A visit to the Tupelo Elvis Presley Museum features the artifacts, exhibits, and memorabilia focusing on Elvis The Boy. Lunch today is (on your own) in quaint downtown Tupelo with time to explore and shop before we depart for Hendersonville, TN, where we check in at the Holiday Inn Express and enjoy dinner (included) at the hotel.
DAY 6: Buffet breakfast (included) before we depart for home, with rest area breaks and lunch (on your own)
