MACKINAC ISLAND AND THE GRAND HOTEL (lakeview rooms)

Join us as we travel north to the Straits of Mackinac, the short waterways between the U.S. state of Michigan's Upper and Lower Peninsulas, traversed by the Mackinac Bridge. We will enjoy wonderful lake views our first night from the Mackinaw Beach & Bay Inn, two nights at the majestic Grand Hotel where our rooms also have lakefront views, and one night in Frankenmuth.  While on the Island,  enjoy a carriage ride around the beautiful Island with lunch at the Grand Hotel. Free time to explore the island and the grandeur of the hotel before a savory buffet dinner in the Grand’s beautiful dining room.A stop at Frankenmuth on the way home for Zehnder’s famous chicken dinner,  a tour of the city and time to explore Bronner’s Christmas Shop for some early Christmas gifts.

Day 1:  We depart Ohio for a beautiful drive through Michigan, where we check in at The Mackinaw Beach & Bay Inn, relax and enjoy the lakefront views from your room. Dinner tonight is on your own at local restaurants. 

Day 2:  Enjoy a boxed breakfast at the hotel before we depart St Ignace on Shelpler’s Ferry to Mackinac Island. After a carriage tour of the island, we will enjoy lunch at the Grand Hotel (included). You’ll be fascinated by the the Grand Hotel and your lakeview rooms for two nights. 

Day 3:   Enjoy a buffet breakfast (included) and a day of leisure on your own to explore the island, the Grand Hotel, sit on the front porch with its great view of the Mackinac Bridge and roam the beautiful grounds. Be sure to be back at the Grand dining room for dinner (included).  Dress code required for the Grand dining room.

Day 4:  Breakfast is included before a little retail therapy downtown before we ride the ferry to Mackinaw City and continue our tour to Frankenmuth.  We arrive at Zehnder’s hotel, llocated next door to Bronner’s Christmas Store, for the night. Tonight we will experience Zehnder’s  famous chicken dinner with all the fixins (included).

Day 5:   Breakfast is included before a city tour of Frankenmuth and a trip to  Bronner’s Christmas Shop for some early Christmas shopping, before beginning our trip back to the Buckeye state.
