Travel with us to the sandy shores of Cape Cod. Extending some 70 miles into the sea, the Cape is home to both natural beauty and quaint colonial villages. Revel in the arts and culture, and reclaim childhood memories of seashells, sandcastles, and saltwater taffy. This tour includes so many interesting and historic locations, it is a journey you wont want to miss!
Day 1: A travel day through Ohio and Pennsylvania for an overnight stay at Hampton Inn, Wilkes Barre, PA.
Day 2: Breakfast is included before we board the bus and travel to Cape Cod and check in at the Hyannis Harbor Hotel. Relax and enjoy the pool and the surrounding area, before dinner. (included)
Day 3: Breakfast is included before we travel to Americas Hometown - Plymouth. One of the country's first settlements, it is well known for its historical value. Stop for a photo op at Forefathers Monument, the largest solid granite monument in the US. Next, board a Lobster Tales Cruise to learn about the creatures that live in Plymouth Harbor. Enjoy some free time for shopping on the waterfront before visiting The Pilgrim Hall Museum, built in 1824 and the nations oldest continuously operating public museum, with an unmatched collection of Pilgrim possessions. Plymouth Rock is the next stop for a picture stop before boarding the restored Mayflower II, a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the new world. (lunch and dinner today are on your own at area restaurants)
Day 4: Today begins with breakfast (included) and a guided tour of Hyannis, including the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Hyannisport, and a view of St. Francis Xavier Church, the summer parish of the Kennedy Family. Welcome aboard a one-hour sightseeing Hyannis Harbor Cruise, with views of the Kennedy Memorial, St Andrews-by-the-Sea, the historic Kennedy Compound, Squaw Island and much more. After some free time to shop and have lunch in Hyannis, enjoy a visit to the Cape Cod Maritime Museum and experience our maritime traditions and nautical history. Whydah Pirate Museum is the next stop on todays journey. Learn the history of the Whydah and touch and see the worlds only authenticated pirate treasure.(lunch and dinner are on your own at area restaurants)
Day 5: Enjoy breakfast (included) and board for a full day of touring. Traveling the Old Kings Highway a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history, with views of historic structures, a windmill, the Cape Cod Lighthouse, and a stop at the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitor Center. Sand dunes and ocean surround you as you approach Lands End Provincetown, the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Originally known as Province Lands the pilgrims landed here first and then settled across the Bay in Plymouth. Experience a ride through the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore on the one-hour Dune Tour excursion before you visit Pilgrim Monument & Museum, a 255-foot tower and the tallest granite structure in the US. After a long day of touring, a relaxing dinner awaits back in Hyannis. (included)
Day 6: Today, after breakfast (included) Please bring your luggage to the bus before we ride to Rhode Island, the Ocean State where we meet Mrs. Caroline Astor, the Grande Dame of Newport and New York Society in the Gilded Age of the late 1800s. Enjoy the charm of historic Newport on the narrated tour covering over 150 points of interest. Take in the rugged beauty of Ten-Mile Ocean Drive and fabulous mansions along the tree-lined Bellevue Avenue. A box lunch is provided before we depart for home, sand in our shoes, seashells in our pockets and fond memories of Cape Cod. We continue our travel to Wilkes Barre, PA for another overnight stay at the Hampton Inn.
Day 7: Breakfast is included before we continue homeward.
