Join us as we walk through history to where America announced its Independence, Philadelphia, PA. We will tour Valley Forge Historical Park where Washington stayed with the troops during the winter of 1777-78 and visit Washington Crossing Historic park, the site where Washington crossed the Delaware River. . Stroll through Independence Hall, visit the Liberty Bell, Carpenters Hall, Christ Church, and the Betsy Ross House. We will also tour the US Mint, National Constitution Center, Philadelphia Museum of Art (home of the Rocky Balboa Statue), the Museum of the American Revolution, and enjoy meals at some of the most famous restaurants in Philadelphia.
Day 1: Leaving Ohio, we travel to King of Prussia, PA where we will enjoy dinner included at Maggiano's Little Italy, before arriving for check in at the Hilton Garden Inn, Valley Forge, PA.
Day 2: Breakfast is included before we board and depart for Valley Forge National Historic Park for a guided tour of the place where General Washington & his Continental Army stayed during the long winter of 1777-78. This beautiful 3,500-acre park includes Washingtons stone headquarters, log huts, and countless monuments, including the United States National Memorial Arch. We will stop at King of Prussia Town center for some shopping and lunch (on your own) before we board for Washington Crossing Historic Park for a guided tour of the park and the site where George Washington crossed the Delaware River. Dinner tonight is included at Washington Crossing Inn, before we arrive at Holiday Inn Express Philadelphia - Penns Landing and check in for the night.
DAY 3: Breakfast is included before we meet our guide in the Historic District and experience the Once Upon a Nation Story Stroll, a walk through American history that includes a tour of Independence Hall, a photo stop at the Liberty Bell, Carpenters Hall, Christ Church & Burial Grounds, see Betsy Ross House and stroll down Elfreths Alley, the oldest continually inhabited residential street in America. Lunch is (on your own) in the Historic District before we depart for the United States Mint and see how coins are produced, see the first coin press, view the seven glass mosaics created by Tiffany of New York, and meet Peter the Mint Eagle, a real bald eagle who made the first US Mint his home. We will finish our day of touring at the National Constitution Center, home of the United States Constitution. for a guided tour. Dinner is (included) at Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti, a true paradise of Italian cuisine and ambiance.
DAY 4: Breakfast is included before we depart for a historic tour of Eastern State Penitentiary, a 19th century landmark and once the most famous & expensive prison in the world. We continue to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for a photo opportunity on the famous steps leading up to the iconic Rocky Statue. We will visit the Reading Terminal Market for some free time to roam through the wide swath of different cuisines, including the authentic Philly Cheesesteaks available from locally owned and family-run food stands; enjoy lunch (on your own) at the stand of your choice. After lunch we visit the Museum of the American Revolution for a walk back in time as we view an unmatched collection of Revolutionary-era memorabilia. Dinner is included as we visit with a special guest appearance from Benjamin Franklin at Moshulu, the worlds oldest and largest squared-rigged sailing vessel still afloat. She is in fact the one and only restaurant venue on a Tall Ship today in the world.
DAY 5: Breakfast is included before we depart for home, with rest and lunch stops enroute.
